How can we help you?
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use GeoSnapr?
Open the app and allow camera and location access. The camera preview shows your location, time and weather as overlays. Choose a preset, drag overlays where you want them, and tap the shutter. The stamped photo is saved to your Records.
Why isn't my location showing?
Check that GeoSnapr has location permission and that location services (GPS) are on. Indoors or among tall buildings, getting a fix can take a moment — the app shows a waiting state while it searches and can use your last known location in the meantime. Moving to an open area usually helps.
How do I change the style of an overlay?
Tap any stamp element to edit it inline, or open Stamp settings to change its style or turn it on or off. Drag an element to move it. To switch the whole look at once, pick another template on the camera screen.
Where are my photos saved?
Photos are stored in the app on your device, in the Records tab, and stamped photos can also be saved to your photo gallery. They are not uploaded to our servers. Use the backup feature to keep a copy elsewhere.
Is GeoSnapr free?
Yes. GeoSnapr is free with ads. Photo mode, all 21 stamp fields, the 12 built-in templates, GPS tools, tags and notes, drawing on photos, batch editing, the direction map and PDF, CSV and KML export are free. GeoSnapr Pro is an optional one-time purchase — not a subscription.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Go to Settings › GeoSnapr Pro › Restore purchase. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy Pro.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds are handled by them. On iOS, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, through your Google Play order history.
How do I export my records?
In Records, choose photos, a date or a session to create a PDF report with location and weather data, a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets, or a KML file for Google Earth, then share or save it. With Pro you can also create an Excel file with thumbnails, a KMZ with camera directions or a ZIP of photos, and choose a PDF layout.
How do I view my photos on a PC?
Connect your phone and PC to the same Wi‑Fi, turn on the PC viewer in the app, then scan the QR code or type the address shown into your PC's browser. Photos are served directly from your phone over your local network.
How do I verify a GeoSnapr photo?
Open the Verify page on this website, enter the GSR-XXXXX-XXXXX code printed on the stamp (or scan its QR code) and choose the original photo file. Your browser recomputes the code from the time and place recorded in the photo's metadata — the photo is never uploaded. Messengers often remove that metadata, so use the original file. The code helps spot edits; it is not legal proof. To also check that the pixels are unchanged, use Verify a photo in the GeoSnapr app on the device that took it.
What does GeoSnapr Pro include?
Pro removes ads and the GeoSnapr watermark and unlocks video (with pause & resume) and timelapse, Excel, KMZ and ZIP reports and PDF layouts, file naming, auto-copy to a folder, audio notes, batch stamping, saving your own templates, the verification code stamp and app lock. You pay once; there is no subscription. The price is shown in the App Store or Google Play for your region.
Can I stamp photos I've already taken?
Yes. Importing and stamping a single photo is free. With Pro, you can choose many gallery photos and stamp them in one go. GeoSnapr uses the location and capture time stored in each photo (EXIF), or a place you pick on the map, and looks up the address and the weather at that time. If a photo has no location, pick one on the map.
Why does GeoSnapr ask for the microphone?
Only to record sound with a video stamp and to record audio notes. It's optional — if you don't allow it, videos are recorded without sound and audio notes are unavailable. Photos never use the microphone, and recordings stay on your device.
What's the difference between photo, video and timelapse mode?
Photo mode takes one stamped photo each time you press the shutter. Video mode (Pro) records a stamped video with a running clock. Timelapse (Pro) takes a stamped frame every 1–60 seconds and joins them into a video, so every frame shows its own time and place. To make a report, choose photos, a date or a session in Records — a PDF for free, or Excel, KMZ or ZIP with Pro.
How does auto-copy to a folder work?
With Pro, open Settings › Auto-export folder, turn on automatic copying and choose a folder with your system's file picker — on your device or in a cloud storage app such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud Drive. New photos, videos and reports are then copied there while the app is open, using your file-name pattern if you set one; you can also include originals and a CSV of each record, or copy on Wi‑Fi only. GeoSnapr doesn't upload anything itself — a cloud folder is synced by that provider's app. If the folder can't be reached, the copies wait and the app asks you to choose the folder again.
Can I lock the app?
Yes, with Pro. In Settings › Security, turn on app lock, set a 4–6 digit PIN and, if you like, allow unlocking with Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint. You can choose when it locks again after you leave the app. The PIN is stored on your device only as a salted one-way hash, and biometrics are checked by your device's system — GeoSnapr never sees or stores them. A forgotten PIN can be reset only with this device's biometrics; without them you'd need to reinstall, so keep a backup.
