Verify a GeoSnapr photo

Check a photo's verification code right in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.

The code printed on the stamp, or scanned from its QR code. Optional if you only have the photo.

How it works

When you shoot with a verification stamp, GeoSnapr computes a short code from the capture time, location and other recorded facts, prints it on the photo and stores the record in the photo's metadata. This page reads that record from the file and recomputes the code the same way.

What this check means

A verification code helps spot edits to the recorded time and place. It is tamper evidence, not legal proof of time or place. This page can only check that the code and the record in the photo's metadata agree. Whether the image itself is unchanged can only be checked in the GeoSnapr app, against the original record on the device that took the photo.
